Spellsongs use the skill spell singing to do interesting affects. You have to be a certain level before you can use certain spellsongs.

Make sure that you get an additional message after you start spellsinging, otherwise the spellsong isn't really working. You can try singing it multiple times in a row without penalty, so just keep trying until the additional message appears.

Historical note: You used to have to “spellsing stop” before singing again, but thank Arawn, now you don't.
